St. Jeaners Held 2nd Reunion
Alumni, former faculty and students, and well-wishers of the St. Jean’s Liberian Catholic School had their second reunion in Columbia, Maryland from August 16-18, 2013. The occasion was graced by attendees from all parts of the United States, Canada, and around the globe.
Reunion 2013 began on Friday, August 16, 2013 with a “Meet & Greet” in the nation’s capital, Washington DC. There were soccer and kickball matches on Saturday afternoon.
Mr. Philip Gaye, Sr. addressed participants with a keynote speech on Saturday night. He urged young Liberians to consider education seriously. He admonished them to pursue their self-actualization goals and never settle, but exemplify the spirit of competitiveness to reach their optimal potential.
Moibah Sirleaf and Robert M. Greene presented the organization's achievements and dreams for the future, respectively. Some of the issues discussed include conducting a membership drive, holding elections, collaborating with the St. Jean's association in Monrovia, and implementing projects in Liberia. Details on projects in Liberia will be posted after a deliberation by the executive committee.
Africa Mama Restaurant served our guests with scrumptious dishes that was enough for everyone. Mr. and Mrs. Selo Musa hosted the body at their residence for a farewell cookout on Sunday, August 18. View photos from the events
